This is a follow up to a previous question.
I asked about a teriyaki skirt steak im making and sides for it.
Well im new in this whole "cooking" thing and trying to learn and i think i have the menu planned out.. does this sound ok? any other suggestions?
Ive marinated the skirt steak since early today in a teriyaki/wine/garlic/other stuff mixture. I will broil it tonight (i dont have a grill) and cut against the grain to serve
I will have with that a side of yellow rice which i will cook in beef broth to give flavor.. and maybe throw some garlic in there too?
I will also have a side of caramelized onions to eat with the rice and steak.
I think it sounds pretty good! Agree/disagree?

Sounds good. You need a green/red vegetable in addition to the onion. Also think about fruit for dessert.
sounds good to me When’s Dinner
Add a vegetable…
And what time is dinner?
When’s dinner….. Sounds great. Are you going to be serving a green veggies with it too.
YUM. What’s dessert? I figure with the other answers, your table is full.
what about add with caramelized onions steamed asparagus or green beans, but it sounds really good
Toss a simple salad and you’re good to go!
Sound wonderful.
sounds ok, but with any good presentation goes the color variation…so far, all you have is brown and yellow. You really need some green, (like a salad) or something to give the plate color
Your menu sounds delicious……enjoy it!!! Don’t overcook your skirt steak, it cooks very quickly……otherwise, it will turn out a bit tough….

i 100% agree! for a first timer u sure know what ur doing. i started cooking when i was 6 1/2 years old and i love it. i also started getting new ideas for recipies to make at home by dining out at a variety of grand restraunts. take a look at their recipies and what they serve with them on the side. and don’t be afraid to ask for the recipies or to speak with the chef. they usually give great tips on marinading, grilling, and what goes with what. hope this helps……..keep cooking. am i invited for dinner with u??? lol
Sounds great! Need a veggie or a small salad to round it out. Green beans, sweet peas or asparagus would be good.
Sounds good, but with such a robust meat wouldn’t you prefer a potato? And don’t forget the salad for something light and a little color on your plate.
and what is in sweet dish
It all sounds very delicious…I wouldn’t cook the yellow rice in beef broth, however, since yellow rice is very flavorful on its own and the beef broth would mask the flavor. Just add a green salad and there ya go!
Good luck and happy cooking!
Add some hot mixed veggies, and a salad, and you have a meal!
